Simba is the titular protagonist of The Lion King franchise. He's the son of Mufasa and Sarabi being next in line to rule the Pride Lands. However, after his uncle Scar murdered Mufasa and convinced Simba that it was his fault, Simba fled into exile and spent years with his adoptive fathers Timon and Pumbaa. Upon entering adulthood, however, as the Pride Lands fell into ruins under Scar's rule, Simba was forced to defeat him and take his place in the Circle Of Life. Then after becoming king, Simba married Nala and had a daughter named Kiara and a son named Kion.
Why He's Awesome[]
- He's a fun-loving and relatable character to connect to for younger people who learn new things along the way.
- He eventually accepts becoming the new king of the Pridelands facing his past.
- Saved Nala from Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed by putting a pretty good scratch on Shenzi as a cub.
- Despite running away from home after Mufasa's death, and Scar tricking him into thinking it was his fault for his father's death. He enjoyed hanging out with Timon, and Pumbaa as his adopted father's taking care of him.
- Lived an easy-going carefree lifestyle taught by Timon, and Pumbaa when becoming an adult lion, until Nala showed up to tell him that he has to return to Pride Rock.
- After fighting with Nala about going back. He got a new perspective on things by Rafiki showing him Mufasa's ghost to talk to him, and encourage him to take his place in the Circle Of Life.
- Went back to Pride Rock to face off against Scar, and defeat him from his wrath of destroying the Pridelands as well as killing his father Mufasa.
- Fought off the clan of hyenas working for Scar with the help of Nala, the lionesses, and his friends.
- Faced off against Scar who gave him PTSD, and defeated him for good.
- Took his place as the new king of the Pridelands showing off his roar to everyone watching him.
- Is very protective of his daughter Kiara not wanting anything bad to happen to her, and is also a very caring father towards his son, Kion.
- Despite being at odds with Kovu because he's Zira's son hand chosen by Scar. He eventually gets along with him better by the end of the film accepting him as part of the pride.
- Lets the Outsiders join the pride after Zira is defeated from her wrathful revenge plan on him.
- In the Lion Guard episode, Bunga and the King, his straight man behavior towards Bunga’s disrespect was very entertaining. Plus, Bunga getting roared at by Simba later on was very well-deserved.
The Only Bad Quality[]
- He was be jerkish and arrogant towards Kovu in the sequel, who wasn't part of Zira's ambush plan on him.
