Malcolm Wilkerson

"Do you know the best thing about childhood is? At some point, it stops."

Malcolm Wilkerson is the titular main protagonist of the sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. He is a boy with an IQ of 165, making him a genius. He was portrayed by Frankie Muniz.

Why He Rocks[]

  1. He has a high IQ of 165, which makes him the most intelligent member of his family.
  2. He is a likable and relatable protagonist.
  3. He acts as the straight man to his more eccentric family and tries his best to keep them together.
  4. Despite his massive ego, he cares for the well being of those around him.
  5. His tendency to break the fourth wall is rather entertaining, even when his narrating is at its least reliable.
  6. He is capable of solving problems as much as he is at creating them.
  7. He usually learns his lessons whenever he sees the errors of his ways.
  8. He has his funny moments.
  9. He is creative when it comes to technology, as he is able to create a robot.
  10. Frankie Muniz did an incredible job portraying his character.

Bad Qualities[]

  1. As the series went on, he becomes more egotistical, self-centered and cynical, though this is understandable, given that he is going through puberty.
  2. Like his brothers, he sometimes lacks common sense and makes his share of dumb decisions in spite of his intelligence.
  3. He sometimes blames his family for anything wrong with his life when it is actually his fault to begin with, thanks to his ego preventing him from realizing his faults.
