Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz is the tetartagonist as well as the main antagonist of the popular Disney animated series, Phineas, and Ferb. He is the bumbling arch-nemesis of Perry the Platypus, and would usually create numerous, various inventions that fail most of the time.

Why He Rocks

1. He is one of THE funniest Disney TV Villains ever created, just like another marvelous villain that isn’t from Disney.
2. He makes every battle with Perry the Platypus count.
   • As the series progresses, they go from enemies, to frenemies, to friendly allies.
3. Although his physical appearance is that of a generic mad scientist with a faux German accent, he manages to stand out because of his personality, wit, slapstick and chemistry with Perry the Platypus, not to mention his genuine love for his daughter.
4. He, along with Perry, has been in more media related to the Phineas and Ferb franchise than Phineas and Ferb themselves. Literally.
5. He is also creative, as he creates every inator he can (not inizor!).
6. Unlike his parents, he's proven to be an excellent and caring father. He tries to protect his only daughter, Vanessa and will do anything he can to make sure she's happy. It's proof he's not such a bad guy once you get to know him.
7. Although random, his backstories give him more depth and are really entertaining and tragic at the same time.
8. His recurring catchphrase "Curse you, Perry the Platypus!" is downright hilarious, memorable and timeless to hear.
9. Despite seemingly embracing his villainy, he is actually a kind and caring person towards those he befriends. He even cares about the well-being of his nemesis Perry, and even gets along with Phineas and Ferb at any chance they meet. He eventually embraces his good side and renounces his villainy in the end.
   • In fact, his reason for turning to evil was simply because he was shunned by those around him and simply wanted respect and recognition, having been treated as a butt-monkey all his life. Even his nemesis, Perry the Platypus understands this.
10. He also feels bad whenever he hurts his friend, Perry, in a bad way.
    • For example, in "Across the 2nd Dimension", he started to feel guilty after Perry’s secret was exposed right in front of his owners because of his 2nd Dimension self taking action to have his Platyborg hit the boys, forcing Perry to blow his cover to protect them. After his 2D self betrays him, he teams up with Perry and his owners to get back home, and even later saves his friend and his owners, by giving his 2D self his toy train, which his 2D self lost. This shows that Doof understands Perry’s love towards his family, as it’s similar to how Doof loves his daughter, Vanessa, and is willing to help his friend protect his family, who have also been nice to him.
    • Even though he was forced to lose his memories by the end of the 1st movie, he seems to have regained them back by the end of the series, as Phineas sang "🎶We meet our doppelgangers in the 2nd Dimension!🎶", and he goes along with it. Also, in "The O.W.C.A. Files" special, this fact is further implied when he and his OWCA team, including Perry, went to Perry’s home, and he says "Oh, so this must be your, your host family’s house."
11. He is one of the BEST characters in Phineas and Ferb history!
12. In the Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars crossover special, Dr. Darthenshmertz is tired of being the lowest of the Darths, and expressed his jealousy towards Darth Vader, he built the Sith-Inator to turn himself into a full-fledged Darth.
13. In the second movie, "Candace Against the Universe," his rivalry with Isabella over leadership is hilarious, especially when he sang about being a leader just because he is an adult who gets to be in charge!
14. "MY NAME IS DOOF, AND YOU'LL DO AS I SAY!! (WHOOP WHOOP)"

Bad Qualities

1. Doofenshmirtz lets others (including his own family (except his daughter)) be their stepping stones rather than standing up to them.
2. He made an invention when it was supposed to turn his brother Rodger (in "Quietest Day Ever"), ugly, but instead, he accidentally created a zombie apocalypse and almost doomed the entire world (in "Night of the Living Pharmacists").
   • He also accidentally turned Ferb into a Sith lord (Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars).
