Gary the Snail is SpongeBob's pet snail and one of the main characters in the children's animated comedy series, SpongeBob SquarePants.

Why He Rocks

1. He really likes his owner, SpongeBob.
2. Originally, he was created as a background character who was normally in SpongeBob's room, but later developed a personality of his own beyond just saying "meow."
3. Besides, his meow is really iconic.
4. Although Gary often finds himself irritated by SpongeBob's naivety and falls victim to negligence and pressure by him at times, the two always get back on good terms in the end.
5. He has an amazing design.
